Sunskimming Question

My attempts to sunskim without heat shields installed ended with the phrase "Press Space Commander" appearing on my display.

I encourage ship captains to install heat shielding on their ships before sunskimming.

I never saw the point to sunskimming, fuels aways cheap, and the sun is far out of the way (with farsun.oxp)

It CAN be done (without heat shields)... RARELY. I managed it a couple of times. Of course it isn't fun.

there are situations, especially during some missions, when you can't get near the station (or other refuelling place) because of your damaged ship & the "special" forces deployed there to destroy it
