BuggyBY mend of cause the floppy drive belonging to the C64. That used the 6502. But, the 6502 is also MOS. Only at the end of the 6502 time they introduced a cmos variant of the 6502. It had a bit more instructions that were placed at the location of older 'nop'/'brk' instructions. This could have wrecked some code that had 'nop' instructions in their code. (I remember sometimes overwriting existing code with 'nop' ). I remember rumours from that time that the later versions of the commodore 64 would start using the 65C02 processor, but I could not find a link to that.Gimi wrote:Actually, the Commodore 64 used the MOS_Technology_6510. However, the 6510 was identical to the 6502 with as only difference that 8 pins of the processor could be used for I/O. See wiki
