BuggyBY mend of cause the floppy drive belonging to the C64. That used the 6502. But, the 6502 is also MOS. Only at the end of the 6502 time they introduced a cmos variant of the 6502. It had a bit more instructions that were placed at the location of older 'nop'/'brk' instructions. This could have wrecked some code that had 'nop' instructions in their code. (I remember sometimes overwriting existing code with 'nop' ). However, the 6510 was identical to the 6502 with as only difference that 8 pins of the processor could be used for I/O. See wiki
