I have edited the HUD.PNG to add a ranging reticule, which helps me deal with the parallax compensation. At ranges less than 900m, on a Cobra III, the laser hits a fair way below the crosshair.
I saw that too. And I thought that was a "bug". I thought the end of my lasers were too heavy and were bending downward.

The laser is precisely parallel to your line of sight through the cross-hair. As such, the line of sight and laser never meet, but the angle between them diminishes with range.
