Can see the image now! Looks pretty good! (although the right-side drivers of UK only manage to confuse me)
Great, a left-hand version is available for an extra 50,000 credits. :)

I've found the name of the person who originally posted the screenshot that the new hud was based on, so ploppy would you mind me uploading this, so other people can use it if they wish?

Been awhile since ploppy posted here for the last time, IIRC, so you could be waiting a long time for an answer.

And since Ploppy said:
the hud's a pastiche of my stuff and some FS community cockpit bits so i need to redo bits / check licencing before i can release it
he wasn't going to release it as it was, and obviously never came around to it, so YOU redid it, which would solve the licencing stuff, I'd say release it :)

I've uploaded the FighterHud to Oosat2, any feedback good or bad would be appreciated.

Not sure why the HUD isn't available on Oosat2 yet, but for the time being it can be downloaded from http://oosat.alioth.net/files/FighterHud.zip

It'll be there whenever Winston feels like and has the time to do an update or gets an assistant to help upkeep the 'sat. :)

Hope to upload a left-hand version of the HUD to Oosat soon!

Playing around adding a few moons and nebula can make Oolite look so much better!

Looks pretty good :D
I was installing your hud with few problems. I play Oolite 1280x1024 and the hud does not fit. I stretch the png to 1280x1024 and it works.
But the cockpit is a little bit transparency and i saw planets and ohter things in the gauges. Looking left, right and back you also see the cockpit. Perhaps it is better so realize a modern HUD Display like that:

with now cockpit equipment. A neutrally HUD maybe fit to every Ship?

Hi Sung, just rename the hud1280x1024.plist in the Config directory to hud.plist (I use this resolution myself!).

I deliberately made the cockpit slighty transparent, so you could see the cargo being scooped, I'll upload one with no transparency.

Unfortunelty I haven't got any control over left, right and back, it would be great if different images could be shown for these views!

Don't think we would have enough control over the HUD to do something like your example, I'd settle for just removing those Forward, Aft, Port and Starboard messages :lol:

BTW, you're doing a great job with the textures!

Hi that new HUD looks great, im a long time Frontier fan and am pleased to have found this Elite remake :D .

I run oolite in the standard window size but this new hud does not seem to work, it floats halfway up the screen! How do i stop this?

Hi omoplata, try renaming the hud1280x1024.plist in the Config directory to hud.plist, which will move it down a bit.

I've tested the standard one in 800x600 and 1024x768 resolutions, but I run in 1280x1024 which is why I've included the hud1280x1024.plist.

If this doesn't work, upload a screen grab along with the resolution your running in.

Decided to quickly try it now

The window is the default size which im guessing is 800x600 and myscreen is running at 1280x800 (its a ws laptop).

Try running in full screen mode by adding this to your .GNUstepDefaults

display_height = <*I800>;
display_width = <*I1280>;
fullscreen = <*BY>

Hi Kev,
I have tried this too, but it was the same effect as seen by omoplata.
Stretching the *.png in Photoshop or Paintshop to 1280 x 1024 pix works fine too me.

How did you import the cool moon? Is this a textured mesh?
Go on with this excellent work! :P
