I would guess that Svengali invented the battle of Matira and just used this as an example for illustrative purposes (searching for Matira yields nothing relevant on either the wiki or here on our BB).





The really important question is - which of these is the medallion of the Officers of the Order of the Opulent Ooniverse? I think we should be told!

Maybe we should start by listed the imagined ranks of the Navy. Here’s my stab at it (lowest to highest)
- Ensign
- Petty Officer
- Warrant Officer
- Midshipman
- Sub-Lieutenant
- Lieutenant
- Lieutenant Commander

- Rear Admiral
- Vice Admiral

I think the 3rd from the right (Warrant officer) should be three thin lines, 4th (Midshipman) should be 1 thick line, 5th should be lower thick, upper thin (this is the sub-lieutenant). Then the lieutenant insignia of two thick lines is better linked to the sub-lieutenant and lieutenant commander.

Not sure about Ensign. If you're using Royal Navy ranks, it'd more likely be Rating (Able or Leading). What about marines? Would HIMSN have a squad of marines (3 or 4) aboard capital ships? The Royal Marines are one of the four fighting arms of the Royal Navy (but their ranks are more army-like).
