Docking when the ship is moving is difficult. The easiest way is to get the docking computers to line you up but this takes ages.

And not 100% crash-safe :-(

As long as the carrir ship is moving in the same direction the docking slit is pointing, it shouldn't be too difficult. Is it doing that ?

I've seen a dredger which was pitching constantly.

Can the docking slot be rotated around 180 degress and placed at the back of the ship. I haven't found much in the way of documenation for the docking slot and I've simply taken examples from other OXPs.

Wait. You can use the docking computers to dock with a dredger? How? I tried it, and was given the message, "can not contact station for docking data" or something like that.

Try using SHIFT+C. This tries to dock with your current target, rather than C or SHIFT+D which tries to dock with the systems space station - if you are outside the aegis then it won't work and you'll get the message that you saw. HTH.

Dredger strange issues

First, it is quite small - according to description it should be huge.

Second, it has TL similar to the system one, i thought it should be high TL

Trird, the AI. It flies quite stright when i see it far away, but when i come closer, it starts maneuvers making it extremely hard to dock.

This was very much a beta OXP and I'm currently working on a range of dredger ships with more interesting AIs, etc. The main dredger will be about 6km long which I hope is big enough. Comments are always welcomed.

I was in Quzadi, having a fine day, enjoying my cloaking device...
And then a Dredger flew in station-side and tried to dock. And it blew up the Sky-blasted station. No more station. The wreckage put a few ships in blackout and killed their engines, and the nearby hOopy casino got destroyed.
Please, please fix this.

When docking with Leviathans, Behemoths or Dredgers, you can use Shift+C to contact the ship for docking (assuming you have docking computers) -- but as mentioned above it does take forever for the autodocking to take over. So type C again to cancel docking, and you often get a message like "We are preparing a docking solution for you, please be patient" or some such. But meanwhile the ship stops moving and waits for you, and then you can manually dock (or line up manually and let Shift+C take you in), like you would a Rock Hermit. Voila!
