Yes, sorry - what I meant is - I don't remember having to buy the cloaking device again - thus I'd presumed (but couldn't remember) it transferred and I didn't need to seek out a suitable Tech Lev System to buy it again.
But that also wouldn't work as the Tech level for the cloaking device is set at 99 you would be hard pressed to find one. :P

Next

That's right - I remember now - there's no native way to repair/replace a CD natively - hence repairbots and the like...

I like the What Ship?! magazine idea. Imagine a monthly pdf of at least 18 pages of near magazine quality reviewing a minimum of 6 ships from completely different classifications and lots of pictures, statlists, individual reviews, and even advertising using the Your Ad Here images. The magazine might also have at least 2 articles of interest pertaining to ships, such as equipment, maintenance issues, etc. This could be ultracool if done right. Someone fluent in desktop publishing would be a shoo-in to do this. :D

Where to I apply for a subscription? :D
Take an idea from one person and twist or modify it in a different way as a return suggestion so another person can see a part of it that can apply to the oxp they are working on.

Have you been drinking? You must mean "yearly", at best...
You know those who, having been mugged and stabbed, fired, dog run over, house burned down, wife eloped with best friend, daughters becoming prostitutes and their countries invaded - still say that "all is well"?
I'm obviously not one of them.

We could make Your Ad Here! type ads for the magazine, to add a little humor.

Ok, I don't mind setting up the layout and the like, but I need some ship reveiws.
It would be great if you could PM them to me (possibly along with some screenshots), then I'll assemble them onto a page that should resemble something similar to the What Car? layout.

But please, lets cut the forty pages of adverts to the three pages of content. Unless of course the adverts have been shamelessly pirated from You Add Here oxp. That would be entirely different.

i did kinda this stuff for a couple of my ships, but i based it on "Which? Magazine" and called it "Which? Space" as a riff on the game term.

That's a lovely model - fab paint job, normal map. (I'm not convinced by the "waste" generated by the concave sections (if they were missile ports or something I could understand it...))
