Ah... so I no longer need the separate missiles OXP? Anything else been merged, perchance?

yeah, you probably don't need the missiles oxp anymore, that fat blue-ish missile is now the hardhead and the whiter missiles that were on the cobraIII with subent missiles is now the standard missile. I can't work out what's cauing this error in your log EV, it looks like it's something in the cobraIII alt oxp - i'll keep investigating - i can't find a version of that oxp with "griff_normalmapped_cobra_mkIII_with_subent_missiles_NPC" in it :?

The missiles being merged into the oxp is the only change

The "griff_normalmapped_cobra_mkIII_with_subent_missiles_NPC" is an OXP in itself... ain't it?

 It could be - i can't remember! Searching my oolite workstuff folder i can find
griff_cobraIII _(alt)_subent missiles_multidecal.oxp
griff_cobraIII _(alt)_subent missiles_multidecal_shortgun.oxp

I'll have to check what i've got uploaded at box, they seem to be called CobraIII_with_subent_missiles.zip and griff_CobraIII_alternate_model.zip
maybe these are slightly out of data

This one... I think. Maybe I shouldn't have/use it?
It was easier to upload my copy, than find your original.

Subsequent flights had no errors until I flushed the cache, then the same error returned.
I never have downloaded the all-in-one version, but I have that error for ages on my system with the single ships. A few weeks ago I downloaded the latest single versions but the error was still there in my log.

Ok, i think this is fixed now - CobraIII_with_subent_missiles.oxp (5KB) from my box.net site http://www.box.com/shared/rpkms25cc9
Eric, sorry you actually told me about that error ages ago! i found a text document on my pc with your notes about the error and a refinement for the oxp to stop it adding missile subentites it would later remove, i think i never fixed it because i couldn't remember the oxp it was from but it think all the fixes should be in the version i've just added

EV, looks like the wreckage & debris oxp needs a fix, i'll have a look into it now

Griff... is the 'new' shipyard.plist correct? It's a lot shorter than the 'old' all-in-one version, and I'm seeing far too many Ferdies for sale.

There is also an issue with Dertiens retxturing of Griff's ships when using the replace version of the all in 1. Dertien used "like ship" referencing Griff all in one ship names. Those ship names are of course non-exsistant in the new replace version. Problem lies with dertien's OXPs though, not Griff's.

Are you using the 'replace' version El Viejo? If so it uses the core game shipyard.plist for the majority of the player purchasable ships, as they are named the same as the core versions in the 'replace' version. The shipyard.plist that ships with the replace OXP justs includes entries for 3 player flyable ships that don't have a direct equivalent in the core game ship set (The scuffed player cobra, the old model ferdelance, and the alternative python). The chance for these entries is unchanged from previous versions of Griffs. Having had a quick look at Griffs original shipyard.plist and the core game shipyard.plist the chances do all seem to match, so that shouldn't be a problem.

You haven't got a stray shipyard-overrides.plist left somewhere in your AddOns folder (or maybe in the cache) suppressing the core shipyard.plist?

The alloy on the demoships parade is again because the replace version is using the core demoships.plist, but the Griff alloys are not included in the all in one, so it is still displaying the core alloy.

Thanks Murphy... yes, I am using the 'replace' version, and no, I don't have a stray shipyard-overrides.plist hangin' around.
It was finding nineteen Ferdies (out of twenty ships total) for sale at Maraus that got me wondering.

Edit to add: after a long patrol, I find that the shipyard at Maraus has returned to 'normality'... this is good!

I just decided to griffify my Ooniverse and downloaded the all-in-one set together with the Griff_Shipset_Replace_v1.0.oxp. First thing I saw as I fired up Oolite was a core Cobra3. The reason is that the entry identifier is wrong in the replacement OXP. There is an entry named "cobra3" in the OXP, which in Oolite's shipdata.plist is named "cobra3-trader".

Now I was curious and started inspecting the shipdata a little closer. Turns out that in its current state it's not just a replacement shipset, but alters the game by making quite drastic changes to the ships' roles. Ships that in Oolite's in-built shipdata have multiple roles are replaced with shaderified versions which can only take on one single role. No more Adders as shuttles, no more Asps as hunters, no more Cobbies as scavengers, to name only a few. There are also auto_ais missing. I haven't yet finished going through the whole shipdata, but I'm wondering: are these changes deliberate? And if so, why aren't they mentioned in the readMe? Even if nobody reads readMe's, I think players should be informed that upon installing the replacement shipset their ships will not only look different, but also the variation in hunters, pirates, scavengers, miners etc. will be limited. [EDIT: in case of the Adder there seems to be a deliberate split into two ships, with the "normal" Adder having only the "hunter" role, while the other roles are located with the griff_normalmapped_adder_hermit_NPC. This case may be a false alarm. However, there is no alternative Asp with a "hunter" role. So the general observation stands.]

Finally there is the issue of escorts. For instance for the Boa there is an escort-role defined. It's defined as "shader-escort", which I guess covers certain escort ships in the replacement set. However, this has a noticeable side-effect: all OXP ships will be excluded from becoming escorts of griffified original ships. Again, this greatly reduces variation. No longer will Boas, Boa CCs or Pythons be escorted by Tigers, Sharks, Gemini escorts, Box escorts, or another of the many OXP ships capable of being escorts.

Bottom line: the Griff replacement set currently does far more than just replacing the core ships with shiny versions. It certainly does not leave the rest of the Ooniverse untouched. Players who install it should be aware of this.

I am currently removing the game changes from the shipdata in my personal version. When I'm done with that I can make the result available, if there is interest for this.
