Been a while since I updated this. I've finally managed to finish off a new hull design for the Asp. I'm happy with this one, and even happy with the texture.

It's dark.

Just finished packaging the Asp OXP and defining the ships. There are three variants: an active Navy version, a 'Shadow' variant (the so-called Vector one) and a navy surplus one for the player and pirates to fly.

In total, that means that the following ships are available in Dream team versions:

Adder (in standard and wingfolded versions)
Asp (Naval, Surplus and Shadow)
Fer-de-Lance
Krait
Moray (in Starboat and Medical Boat versions)
Moray-R (reversed hull Moray, in standard and Medical schemes)
Python
Sidewinder
Viper (standard, Interceptor and Escort variants)

The OXPs for each of the above are ready to run, but might need tweaking with viewpoint locations and laser origins.

Currently working on Cobra Mk I and Thargoid (the latter of which is low-priority).

Re: the Thargoid thing.
With the development of V1.68, is it possible now to have a ship with an internal 'glow'? That might work for the Thargoids, with pseudo-random flickers of lights eminating from within (possibly tying the flickers with the ship's speed?)

Just a thought.

So....will the Vector Asp be of the cloaked persuasion?

Define “internal”.

And, to round off the pre-Easter rush, the Cobra Mk 1:

All this talk of shaders and stuff is quite exciting. Must see if I can learn how to use it...

As in 'appears to be beneath the skin' internal......

So not technically very different from an external glow?

The Beta WIP version of the Dream Team is now downloadable from my site.

It's a whopping 7Mb so far, but includes the ships mentioned a few posts above (with the exception of the Cobra Mk 1).

Work to do:

Downloaded. Can't wait to see them buzzing between systems.

So where's this hot new Imperial Courier then....?

It's coming...I'm looking at tweaking the performance as we speak, then I need to recalibrate the viewpoints then I need to check the laser emissions.

Once done, I'll slap a valid MOT on it, tax it and off we go!

Not really knowing what the original writer meant, but I think "internal glow" would really require support for transparent textures - you could make the texture slightly transparent (or some parts more transparent than others) and then place a light source inside the model and, voila, internal glow is here! :)

...not that I'm suffering from Courier withdrawal. 'S jus' that I like the original oak panelling in the cockpit and the walnut burr dashboard. And the fully stocked liquor cabinet beside the real leather Comfi-Sorb body conforming Commander's chair with optional built-in back and shoulder shiatsu massager nodules...............

FINISH THE COURIER, MAN! I'm Jonesin' fer it!
