I see only white points !
That exactly what I said - but no it's a mottled texture/normal map on black - just depends on your monitor gamma!

Hi, life is being relentless atm, but I just wanted to say - in trunk you can add the main planet texture inside planetinfo.plist to override the procedural texture: if you change this bit

Code: Select all

"0 7" = // Lave
{
    // Sun settings
    corona_flare = 0.075; // from 0.0 to 1.0
    corona_hues = 1.0;    // from 0.0 to 1.0
    sun_color = blueColor; // can also be redColor, greenColor or things like sun_color=(0.45, 0.8, 1.0); for any color you may need
};
to

Code: Select all

"0 7" = // Lave
{
    texture="newtexture.png";
    // Sun settings
    corona_flare = 0.075; // from 0.0 to 1.0
    corona_hues = 1.0;    // from 0.0 to 1.0
    sun_color = blueColor; // can also be redColor, greenColor or things like sun_color=(0.45, 0.8, 1.0); for any color you may need
};
newtexture.png will always be displayed for Lave whenever you look at the F7 screen, even if you're in Diso, or Riedquat, or anywhere else for that matter!

There's also the corona_shimmer setting, accepts a number from 0.0 (corona colours change very slowly) to 1.0 (the corona is 'slightly' hyperactive... ;) )
That is nice for Famus planets
Is it possible also for system redux to take advange of this oolite feature? (I am taking about the permanent replacement of the texture in the F7 screen)

Yep I have to build that in the next version of Famous Planets. Which will be a sort of 1.73+ addaption of the current version with edited suns and the planets for the F7 screen.

DaddyHoggy has created wonderful texts for the news flashes and Disembodied has done some really beautiful pics for it. :-)

I'm happy, too .-) You and Disembodied have upgraded this sweety so much - gracias companieros! Disembodied has overhauled the complete missiontexts, too 8) Eric has helped me a lot with former versions and Kaks took a look too. It is on the way to become a BB-Oxp :-)
But there's still a lot of work waiting.

Great work! Maybe you guys can take on the challenge of finishing the Orbital Graveyard OXP when you're done!

Nice one! looked like you were having fun! :D
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied
