Energy Bomb / Q-Mine

Post by scaseman »

My manifest lists a Energy Bomb but no Q-Mine. If I activate the Energy Bomb as normal it works as expected. If I activate it as a Mine it functions as a Q-Mine. Any ideas?

Q-mines are pylon-mounted equipment (like a missile) but aren't called q-mines in the Equipment list. You'll find it listed as a Quirium Cascade Mine iirc.

They're entirely different pieces of equipment to energy-bombs, and work differently. See the wiki for details.

Thanks for your reply. I go not have any Quirium Cascade Mines in my manifest but as I said my Energy Bomb functions as a Quirium Cascade Mine if I target it as a mine then launch it. If I use the Tab key it works a s an Energy Bomb. It may be an OXP causing the problem if you can call it that. I quite like the idea of a dual purpose bomb/mine. I do have the Status Quo Q-bomp OXP installed and that seems to work ok. As the weapon when used as Q-Mine will not function close to a planet. But as the Energy bomb works fine anywhere.

Seems like a weird bug, then.

Perhaps you have some cascade missiles? The energy bomb definitely should never work like a q-bomb.

How does the Energy Bomb work as a mine? Is it appearing on one of your missile pylons?

No I have found that I Have a Quirium Cascade Mine on a pylon but it does not show in my manifest, I do have an Energy Bomb which is not on a pylon. I am beginning to suspect the issue is due to me increasing my missile pylon total to ten on my Cobra MkIII. I find with all of the extra equipment available its the only way to choose my equipment. Currently I have two Fuel Tanks, one Nanobot Repair, four ECM Hardened Missiles and the Infamous Quirium Cascade Mine which as I said before does not show in my manifest. In fact I just bought another Quirium Cascade Mine and that does not show in the manifest either. Can someone confirm thaty the Quirium Cascade Mine should show in a ship's manifest?

No. It's pylon mounted and not shown on ship's Manifest.

Thank you I could have sworn that I had seen one in my manifest. My mind must be playing tricks on me. Must have smoked too much space weed.

Nothing on your pylons, neither missiles nor mines, shows up in your manifest. It isn't meant to be listed in your manifest. It shows up as small icons someplace on your HUD. (Obviously the place depends on the HUD.)

There are some non-missile-and-mine equipment items which have to be pylon-mounted for usability. These may show up both as icon and in your manifest.
