Anyone care to share a solution to the military fiasco mission? I stopped playing Oolite a long time ago but just found a backup and started playing again. However I don't remember were in the mission I was, how to finish or how to restart it.
Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

Probably you can reset the mission by editting your save file, but as to the specifics (and not having the mission OXP) I cannot say.

Note there is a new version available to d/l.
Long time since completed MF, my grey cells have degenerated to much to retrieve any useful data...

There are 3 mission variables that need to be reset/removed if you want to start military fiasco all over again:
military_fiasco, military_fiasco_progresscount, and military_fiasco_killcount.
They'll show up inside your save game as:
etc...
Remove the 6 lines containing the 3 corresponding <key></key><string></string> pairs and you sould be good to go.
As long as you don't use m$'s notepad to edit the save game you should be ok.
I would make a backup copy beforehand though, just in case!

Hello and welcome to the board!
When you've completed it, you can keep the oxp in your addon folder and the mission will reactivate after some time.

It's not necessary to edit anything. Really. It's not the standard type of mission - it simply will add ships to fight wherever you currently are and once you've fought enough of them, the Leviathan will appear randomly. At some point they will warn you not to attack it - but of course that's what you have to domaincore wrote:Anyone care to share a solution to the military fiasco mission? Notepad is fine, as long as you turn Word Wrap off first!Kaks wrote:As long as you don't use m$'s notepad to edit the save game you should be ok.

The advice about backups is always correct though.
