Neolite mamba missing texture file?

Post by Jon Ridgway »

Hi All,

I'v noticed that i'm viewing the standard Mamba in game despite installing the latest neolite oxp, checked my log file and spotted:

[files.notFound]: ----- WARNING: Could not find texture file "mamba-neolite-default.png". Used default no textures material instead.

Is this just me?

Jon.

Hmmm, probably not, neolite.oxp is a big project, and some files never made the transition from Simon B's hard disk to the uploaded zip.

IIRC, there's a couple other files missing as well. You could try sending a PM to the man in question.
Barring lack of time & assorted accidents, he might be able to at least post the missing texture.
Hey, free OXPs: farsun v1.05 & tty v0.5! :0)

Yeh, the Coriolis is missing a texture/fragment too in the Neolite pack

And two ships have only one exhaust plume while there should be two.

Problem is that he has no version numbers on his site nor in his version. So i have no clue if those are already fixed in his current work.

A few months ago, I did send him a shipdata.plist were the exhaust and a few other bugs were corrected but don't know if he used it.

Has there been any response from Simon on this issue?

I've just noticed the exact same issue with the Mamba textures.

I'm not getting any of these errors, however i do use shaders, so maybe the above only effects non-shader oolite?

Thread necromancy - Eric I don't suppose you remember which ships are missing the exhaust plumes?

No, I don't remember, but it was a definition bug. The values were there, but a wrong seperator was used resulting in ignoring the second plume. And it was more than one ship when I remember well.

Thanks Eric, the constrictor is one with that problem - all the others in the core set look OK. I'll check the others.

Same issue:

"14:44:18.095 [TugDrone]: Payout for Derelict Granite Boa Mk2: Bounty 1000 ₢ [Ship "Granite Boa Mk2" position: (-11867, 9292.03, 339002) scanClass: CLASS_CARGO status: STATUS_IN_FLIGHT]

14:44:36.335 [script.javaScript.exception.ooliteDefined]: ***** JavaScript exception (Cargo Scanner 1.11): Error: displayNameForCommodity: Invalid arguments (null) -- expected string."

Now I have the pin wheel of death.

You could try this 'fix' here.

I think there's some inconsistencies in the shipdata.plist file:

Code: Select all

shaders =
		{
			"mamba-neolite-default.png" =
			{
				"vertex_shader" = "neolite-std.vs";
				"fragment_shader" = "neolite-std.fs";
				textures =
				(
					"mambapirate-neolite-default.png",
					"mamba-neolite-effectsmap.png",
					"null-neolite-normalmap.png"
				);
Wouldn't "mamba-neolite-default.png" normallly have the same name as "mambapirate-neolite-default.png"?
You could check the texture file and see if one of them is missing.
If so, try copying the one that is there and renaming the copy to the name of the missing texture (so that you now have both).

Good luck.
