phpbb2 isn't that great anymore, looks like the current captcha is getting broken easy, even then, the current phpbb3 captha was broken after a while, but more captcha's have been added, or at least a few news ones will be added, so that different boards have different catchas, so making them harder to break, the other problem is, phpbb2 is no longer supported, which means any phpbb2 board will be targeted, even with the last phpbb2 update, it doesn't means its secure, my suggestion would be, maybe an upgrade to version 3 might be a wise idea

Problem is also that in poor Eastern European Countries (but with good English skills) people are being paid to sit and join 10s, 100s of forums a day with dozens of false IDs and reCaptcha is not a solution to stop a real old fashioned mark one eyeball...
