Technically there's nothing wrong there, since they are still sorted by TL...
However, one possible fix is that if within the same TL, planets are then sorted by alphabetical order.
I'll have a look at that. Same applies to Economy and Government columns.

Small Announcement

Post by treczoks »

Actually, two announcements:

To avoid clashes with other peoples pages, I decided to move the project into its own sub-namespaces: The Galaxy Guides entry for Lave will be at "Sector1/Lave", and not at "Lave".

Another thing I worked on can be found in the project page: http://wiki.alioth.net/index.php/Autoge ... th.2C_2009

Please let me know what you think about that idea.

I know that's not relevant, but TL sort order is different every time I press the sort button:
OK, I dug in the manual, and, behold, it had an answer!

Say you've got two columns A and B, both sortable. You click to sort A first, and the B, then the list is kept as much in the order of the last sorting (i.e. A) as the contents of column B allow.

So if you want to have Economies as first order and Names as second order, click on the Names first and on the Economies second.

And now you have the Rich Industrial systems at the top, ordered by Name from Alama to Zasoceat, and the the Average Industrials from Anisor to Zaonce, etc.

This is simple, elegant and as flexible as possible. Wow. It could have been my idea, the

That's a nice theory, but it doesn't work like that on my web browser, Google Chrome. Instead, the previously clicked column has no apparent impact on the ordering.

Also, why does the content change to a different order when you click twice on the same sort order indicator.

Try this as an experiment:
  • Go to http://wiki.alioth.net/index.php/Sector1/Index
  • Click the HC sorter twice (do not double-click) (Raale will be on top)
  • Observe the 3 systems with a hub count of 13
  • Click the HC sorter twice
  • Observe the same 3 systems will most likely be in a different order
  • Repeat the click-twice process to observe different variations

It's using NAME as a default secondary search, and is reversing the order (A/U/X first time, X/U/A second time) every time you double click it.

So how, please, do I get HC ordered where each subgroup is ordered by Name?

If I click on the name sorter, then the HC sorter, the previous Name sorting bears no impact on the final result.

With Internet Explorer that work.

With Firefox or Google Chrome, nada.

I cannot immediately confirm the Firefox issue, but for Chrome I have this information:

Hash keys sort differently
We had a testHash.keys() being compared to a hardcoded array. Chrome sorted the keys differently (apparently non-deterministically, so we had to do an explicit sort:

Sorting Issue

Post by treczoks »

Looks like pmw57 is right on the spot here. Sorry, but on that I'm a bit helpless - I'm just using a wiki feature that works for most of us. And no, I'm not going to fix that Javascript code - I'll leave that to the professionals

On the other hand - any comments on the maps?

New Features

Post by treczoks »

Updates for October 16th

Short: I added The Traders Almanach and a location description (See "Location" in the System Box on the right side of a System entry like Lave).

On Aronar You included also FP entries. These are not yet on the other planets is that correct? Also I repeat my question if you want any screenshots or charts of these planets. PM me if you want.

They are all in the "database" for sector one, and will appear once the systems get uploaded into the wiki - a process that I have just started (I'm not the wiki admin, so I cannot "import" them. I have to copy and paste them like a mere mortal ;-)

If you like and have write access to the wiki, have a look how I added the pictures in Aronar and add them yourself. If you don't or haven't, just send me the files.

PS: I started uploading the systems one by one. I'm now at system No. 62 and will go to bed... Some of them were FP systems, btw.

I just added a very special system to the list: Soro, known in FP2.0 as Ascension. Check it out: Sori

Edit: Just entered the 100th system.
