Ermm.. I'm having trouble thinking of anything memorable enough from that movie to include...
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied

Peter Ustinov in the (I suppose) Congress was memorable. :)

But, seriously, could it have something to do with the fact that Logan's Run is not exactly a space ship movie?

And, even more seriously, there actually is a reference to it in RandomHits.oxp. One of the euphemisms for killing your victim in the random announcement text is to make sure that they "will be renewed on Carousel". :P

Did the Austrailian version not include the nude scene with Jenny Agutter? As a young boy I found this to be particularly memorable!

Nothing specific springs to mind, although I have a feeling that there's a YAH advert for music by the famous wall-eyed singing cow "David Bovie" ...

Something from "Silent Running" would be nice... the last forest dome, drifting through space, maybe.
A great movie with a great soundtrack.

Then there's always "Dark Star"...
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Ok.. I confess THAT was memorable!!! It's not, however, something easily incorporated into Oolite! (at least, not in any way that wouldn't upset parents of younger Commanders!)

There are the biodomes already!

Dark Star. Hmmm. A q-bomb that wants to explode after being targeted the 5th time just to be put back into safe mode? ;)

Or...maybe...some waterball trumble ;)

Player ships are limited to 16 hardpoints, and most are kitted with far less than that. And the only talking q-bombs are in Random Hits. (Even then, the bombs don't have much to say.)

Sorta rules out Bomb #20, doesn't it?

Nope.

There's missile rack, which ups the ante to max 48 missiles, and there's the chain missile launcher for future OSE, which takes it to 160 for the really big bad boys

So bomb nr.20 is entirely possible ...

Let there be light

I'm still fiddling with Hoopy Casino on the quiet... maybe I should add a poker game with robots... everything's better with robots!

At least one of B&B must have been a Douglas Adams fan - the original game has quite a few references - hence so does oolite.

I didn't buy the David Bovie album, I prefer to listen to Neutron Liver Uncle ;-)

(I wonder if somewhere out there in the Ooniverse there is a human world next to small furry animals, originally colonised by Scots. Then we could have several small furry animals grooving in a Krait with a Pict.)

@phonebook Think of Margaret Thatcher for a bit, that'll fix it
