Hi,

I'm new to Oolite, downloaded and installed ist. And installed over 200 plugins. Love the game, loved Elite :)

One of germans best known newspapers mentioned Oolite in an article about Elite's 25th anniversary.

Good find. But I just can't believe they managed to forget the Macintosh, which was the original platform the game was written on.

Well, it's BILD. Roughly equivalent to the SUN. (Or NEWS OF THE WORLD.) So what do you expect?

Oh, and: Welcome to the boards, Lucas1510! :D

Don't you think that's a little overwhelming for a brand-new commander? Just curious, but what version did you download?

Oh yes, Welcome to the board, Lucas!!

Thank you all for the welcome :)

I first installed 1.65, but then I saw some ships that only work >1.7, so I installed Oolite-1.73.3, but that version didn't work, I've bugs in the graphics (all messed up, the Ship is just a white thing, no text etc., just like here), then I compiled a version myself, that had the same bug and then tried 1.73.4, again the same bug.

After all I installed Oolite-1.72.2-test.exe, this version works fine.

But you're right, 200+ plugins are too much, just wanted to have a look at what plugins are available. I think there are some I can delete ^^

The bug you are describing has been already resolved in v1.73.4 and the solution is actually described in the thread you linked to. Just start the game with the command line parameter -nosplash (you can also edit the game shortcut startup line and add this parameter in) and it will work fine. And believe me, 1.73.4 is miles away ahead compared to 1.72.2.

Thank you, I did not see the "-nosplash"-tip :)
