The price of minerals makes a mining laser redundant :p
Even with the ore processor and one side mounted mining laser, I never mine, its not worth the hassle.

You can also turn asteroids in deadly weapons. I just played with one. Gently hitting him on one side with your ships nose so it starts to move. Increase your own speed and hit again. When you don't hit it to hard, neither will suffer from the impact.Cmd. Cheyd wrote:I've done it many times in my Griff Cobra 3. Well, I'll ram boulders, not full-on asteroids...
This way I increased an asteroids speed up to the max speed of my boa mk2. After that I did one last gentle push with injectors on. The asteroid now got a speed of up to 400! A deadly weapon to severe damage a station.
(Was that the origin of that killer asteroid in asteroid_storm.oxp)
After that i tried a second push on injectors. Very difficult now to give it a gentle push at this high speeds as you have to release injectors just in time before contact. contact was hard when i finally touched. Asteroid blown away and also my shields and 7 of my 8 energy banks. (I am still shaking...)
UPS-Courier & DeepSpacePirates & others at the box and some older versions

How do you aim it?Eric Walch wrote:You can also turn asteroids in deadly weapons. I just played with one. Gently hitting him on one side with your ships nose so it starts to move. Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied
