Cloaking Device

Hello to all on the forum,

Long time lurker, just reached "deadly".

I am puzzled as I seem to have acquired a Cloaking Device, although I never purchased it and did not see a message telling me I had received one.

Can anyone tell me where this item may have come from?

This is the result of a built-in encounter with three pirate Asps you had at some point. Spoiler:One of them is meant to flicker while in combat and if you destroy it, it drops a pod containing a particular type of cargo: the cloaking device.

If you never had such an encounter, then (spoiler)it might just be that some NPC shot down the Asp in question before you got to it and you just picked up the cargopod that was floating in space. This should be extremely rare though, normally the three Asps are meant to appear in front of you when the time is right, immediately after coming out of hyperspace.

I have indeed been trwling around G5 for a while, although I don't remember 3 Asps.

Flying a Boa Cruiser means that I invariably pick up the spoils of war. I just thought it strange that the cloaking device just appeared on my equipment list without fanfare.

Would this be the mission in G5 then?
