Flaky Forum
These problems with the Boards are beginning to become irksome.
Does anyone know what's happening?

Trumbles have eaten through a power conduit on C-deck, or so I've heard.

I think the trumbles have stolen an escape pod and are causing havoc in the greater universe. Out here in the wop-wops of the internet, there are numerous sites northern are showing flaky connections. Especially as I'm on the glory's of dial-up. Haven't seen any news of a net attacks though.

However, this is only true if you else have a reliable internet connection, which isn't a given for everyone of us.El Viejo wrote:re multiple posts: you only need to hit submit once. The post is sent even though the error message appears.
I personally have to distinguish between
- seeing a board-generated error message: in this case everything seems to be fine, despite the message (although that probably also depends on the type of message)
and - seeing nothing at all, or a Safari-generated error page, saying something like "your computer is not connected to the internet": in this case our satellite broke down, or the modem, or the router, or something on the other side of the satellite, and my message never made it to the board at all (don't worry, things like this happen *only* ten to twenty times a day ).

I remember years ago I wanted to delete my last post, but through a mistake I deleted my first message on that page.Commander McLane wrote:[And by the way, also re multiple post: I hope everybody is aware of the handy "delete" button in the upper right corner of your post (looks like an "X" in a box), which is visible as long your post is the last one in the thread. This enables you to instantly delete any double/triple/quadruple post, as long as nobody else has posted since. Works even for posts which are years old.
But you can't do that anymore as I had yesterday the same problem with sending a message and pressed the send button 3 times ending up with 3 identical messages. Only the last contained a delete button. After deletion of the last, the "new" last had now the delete button so I still managed to delete my double posts. But it becomes impossible if someone else manages to add a new post in the meantime.
UPS-Courier & DeepSpacePirates & others at the box and some older versions
Unless you're a moderator or admin, at which point things can get, umm, interesting...

Hi Commanders,
Glad to say trumbles haven't made it to Australia yet either, maybe too hot for them here.
Never had any problems with forums or Wiki pages either for that matter.
What's a dial up? seems I have some vague memories about something like that. Wasn't something about having pizza delivered?

You're just not in the right place mate... they've been in Brisbane for several days now... hopefully the little buggers will be eradicated soon..
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied
