What version of Mac OS X do you use? (redux)
I asked this a couple of years ago, but things might have changed since then. (Hey, look at that comment. Not quite ready for the next stable release, were we?)
Note: if relevant, select the lowest operating system version you actively play Oolite on.

Not quite, it seems. But I remember there was a time when we thought 1.70 would be it.Ahruman wrote:(Hey, look at that comment. Not quite ready for the next stable release, were we?)
By the way: Glad to see you dropping in, Ahruman!
Oh, and as far as my OS is concerned: Still 10.4.11, and the comment is still valid: As soon as I return to good old Europe I'll consider upgrading to whatever it will be then (10.6? 10.7?). Most likely I'll also upgrade to a new laptop.
Oh, and it seems I'm so backwater that I don't even know what "SL" stands for. No fancy cat names again?

Snow Leopard. If that's not fancy...Commander McLane wrote:Oh, and it seems I'm so backwater that I don't even know what "SL" stands for. No fancy cat names again?

They’re running out, though. The only big cats left are clouded leopard, Bornean clouded leopard and lion. Then there are various synonyms for ones they’ve already used: cougar, mountain lion, catamount, ounce. (they’ve already used both leopard and panther).

10.5 is DEFINITELY worth the upgrade.
I think that they should have called iPhone OS Ocelot or Lynx instead...
Also it'll sound stupid if they do: Leopard, Snow Leopard, Clouded Leopard, Bornean Clouded Leopard... Doesn't sound like a "new" os you'd pay for, does it?

I shot him back first. That is to say, I read his mind and fired before he would have fired on me. No, sir, he wasn't a fugitive.

If windows can use the following, then I dont think OSX should worry about consistency too much. And someone needs to teach Sun to count.wackyman465 wrote:Also it'll sound stupid if they do: Leopard, Snow Leopard, Clouded Leopard, Bornean Clouded Leopard... But Snow Leopard is a low cost upgrade to Leopard, and so it i a completely sensible name.
I dont think the next one will be called Mexican Bearded Leopard, or anything like that. If they really do run out of cats, then Im sure they can call it Hyena, or Arctic Fox or something without the world coming to an end

Although I think ME is an OS that even M$ would like to forget about (soon to be followed by Vista I'd imagine!)
