Do you want to try out trunk, but can't compile it yourself?

Do you have these 'stripes' (red or green colored?) from the very first beginning when your laptop was repaired? In most cases stripes are indicating a mem-problem, graphics card or mainboard, and the reason is very often ... heat or faulty mem in new devices.
btw: When I mentioned vendors drivers, I didn't meant to download them from Nvidia. Your laptop company has in most cases own drivers, a little bit changed to prevent the laptop from burning.

I asked L to test the RAM in his machine, and he hasn't mentioned anything more about that, so, assuming all is well on that front, I'm beginning to suspect Registry issues at the heart of the problems..
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied

I can do a full re-install of the trunk via A_C's "easy way installation for Windows", but "svn up" doesn't work for me and neither does your installer ...
That is the status quo atm, and I'm "solving" this for the moment by doing a complete re-install every week or so
I can live with it, though

And thanks from me too, as I now have a shiny new portable trunk version on my SD card, so I can work over the next few weeks to begin updating all my OXPs for 1.73 whilst I'm on the road
My OXPs via Boxspace or from my Wiki pages .

Svengali and Thargoid, thank you, and I'm glad you're finding it useful for productive work.. and not just to have the latest and greatest.. (which is what my poll is actually about.. simply to see how many use it for what, and how many regular 'customers' I have)

As an experiment, beginning with SVN2318, I have modified the installer so that it will preserve GNUstep settings. After this point, it should no longer be necessary to back up your .GNUstepDefaults file in the manner described in my original post. Should you notice any problems apparently caused by this change, please let me know as soon as possible by Private Message or this thread.
(Testing on my system indicates that, for some reason, it may not preserve the GNUstep folder the first time you use the new installer, but after that, things work as advertised.)
I have uploaded the newly modified SVN2318 installer in place of the 2318 installer I placed there earlier today.
