I have milked this long enough!
Part I (the scene setter) of the Coda is now appended to original post.
Part II (the explanation that will (hopefully) bring it all together) to follow as quickly as RL will allow!

I was hoping to have this finished tonight, but as its now rapidly approaching two in the morning I will have to call it a night and leave you with Part II of the Coda which, I am almost embarrassed to admit, ends with another teaser!
So sorry!

Well it's 2am again and my alarm goes off in four hours time...
Almost finished - you'll have to be satisfied with a large Part III of the Coda - dedicated to Simon B, which hopefully will make sense if you read it!
Night all.

A most satisfying wrap-up.. I look forward to more adventures from Janus and Lazarus..
Thank you DH, for what has been a very entertaining and absorbing story!

Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied

We're not quite done, there's one more revelation to come and then I really need to get on with my other projects that are piling up - not that I haven't enjoyed Lazarus as much as the rest of you - I think it has to be one of my favourite things that has ever made it from my brain to my fingers...

Well it's even later (earlier) than usual - but I really needed to put Lazarus to bed - I suspect Part IV will need some editing as I've not checked it at all.
I hope it proves a worthy finishing point for your perseverance!
Thank-you and good night!
(alarm goes of in 3.5 hrs time I must be mad (or a writer!))

PDF format can be found here of the whole story including all four parts of the Coda.
I've fixed one continuity error (there may be more but that's up to you to spot).
I think the pictures will stay in, not sure...
Almost 18,000 words in the end - not very short - 1/5th-1/4th the size of a "proper" novel
Thanks again guys, your support has been much appreciated and warmly received.

Having converted Lazarus to pdf using Open Office 3.1 under Vista I have noticed since creating that on some PDF readers (especially Document Reader under Ubuntu (7.10)) that some of the Bold text is missing (well it's not missing you just can't see it) - just in case your affected - apologies!
