A customized Kirin Sport.

Derik Roh'i's ship, the Pax Andromeda. This is not a stock Kirin; it had a few upgrades of *ahem* questionable legality. In the background can be seen the Tianve pulsar.

A stock Sport has four turrets: Two aft, one top, one bottom. The Pax Andromeda has two side turrets - one port, one starboard - in addition.
They're not very powerful; mostly there as point defense to stop hardheads, and to soften up fighters that get too close. I prefer to make kills with mil lasers and missiles, from long range.

If you want to see a too many plasma turrets, find a Kirin M or XM.

After a long flight fighting off Bugs and freebooting scum, there's nothing like a cold glass of beer at The Friendliest Space Bar This Side of Reidquat. :)

Thanks to some spot checking by Disembodied, I've fixed up the Advice For New Commanders and I am happy with the current form.

Click on the page to download the new version. A nice side effect is that it shaves a bit of weight of the previous version and renders a bit faster in the viewers.

I also second Daddy Hoggy with the `ooh pretty'. For some reason I help but thinking I'm looking at the mechanical interpretation of a space squid. Not that's bad thing mind you. :D

== Edit ==

By the blessed Saints John Paul George & Ringo! I could swear that those ' were there before I made the pdf. Thanks for catching me on that Disembodied. Corrections have been made and the page now links to a zip file instead.

Quick request: can you upload it as .zip instead of .7z?

Edit: And ... sorry ... should be "A Beginner’s Guide"!

Documentation of a Navy-Thargoid witchspace battle in between the Zaesre and Recexela systems.

It's an honor to capture how hard our boys at the navy are working to rid the Ooniverse of the Thargoid menace. Oo-rah!

Although it must be noted, even a war-reporter gets a nick or two in the line of fire. :o

What a fantastic slide show - just needed the music from '"Homeworld" playing over the top...

Thank-you!

Trying to recall the last of my Comprehensive English Education about the possessive apostrophe 'S'

Then writing out the original title out as "A guide for Beginners" implies only the plural not the possessive. Since only if you wrote it as "A Guide for Beginner's" would you assume that some-one called Beginner had this guide.

Disembodied's correction "A Beginner's Guide" implies a single beginner has possession of the guide.

and Star Gazer's correction to the correction "A Beginners' Guide" implies multiple entities called Beginners have possession of the guide.

What I'm trying to figure out is why the first one is grammatically wrong. :?

EDIT: Of course the most famous guide of them all "THGTTG" has a possessive 's so I shall shuffle away and climb back into my box...

Ah, yes, I was taking the position that it was "A guide for beginners", hence my choice of "beginners' guide", rather than the grammatical inversion of "A guide for the beginner". The capitalisation of Beginner was not construed to be a proper noun, merely for emphasis in a heading.

...this could be in danger of becoming rather pedantic...

(Sorry about all this but my girl-friend teaches English, and she is always having a go at me about how appallingly badly SciFi expresses itself...!!!!

I suspect we crossed the border into Pedant under the cover of darkness many posts ago and are now sniping from our secure position at the unwary apostrophe and straying comma
