Part XI now up.
There will now be a brief interlude because I'm going on holiday to the north of Scotland where I have no TV, no telephone and no internet - in some ways it'll be pure bliss, in others...
Will be taking a lappy with me so expect, I hope, Part XII and XIII and possibly an actually conclusion to this meandering tale when I get back.
Quick question to the Admins - How many words can appear in a single posting - I think I may have just exceed 6K for Lazarus...
(So, over 6K at least!)
I suspect once finished, it'll also end up in a more manageable format such as PDF.
BTW, hope you're all still enjoying it, else, why am I writing! (other than "because I must!")

Typical.. running off now you've left us with a cliff-hanger!
Enjoy your holiday!
Very much looking forward to the next instalment.

Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied

Thank-you.
If I'm honest the tiger came as a surprise to me too! With about 3 sentences to go I was thinking "how the hell am I going to end this section on a high?" when a flash of inspiration (and another, yet to be revealed, story arc change) struck me and hence the tiger...

Hi Guys,
using the last of my credit from earlier in the week, so Part XII is now up.
Part XIII is written and Part XIV is in the process of having a few kinks knocked out of it.
I think this will 'end' at Part XVI but I'm not complete sure!
Part XIII will go up once I'm sure it correctly leads into Part XIV so that'll probably wait until I'm back in England (early next week).
later,
DH (from the Highlands of Scotland)

Having reread it - I'm inclined to agree with you!Davidtq wrote:A bit Terry pratchet towards the end there I like it.
OK, so I'm sat at my dad's very sickly PC but it's worked long enough to make Part XIII available earlier than I suspected would be the case!
Part XIV will be a bit of a biggie - it may need some subdivision - haven't decided yet - but this will definitely have to wait until next week when I'm back home and on my own PC.
Hoping this continues to be a worthwhile (i.e. entertaining) following for you all? (just noticed over 2K hits - obviously many repeat offenders!)

For those of you who may have read Dragonbone Chair - I think Treee'ggaar speaks with the same quirks as found in Binabik's speech patterns - must have copied it subconsciously...

I've been following this tale fairly close. Excellent work, DH.
Keep it up ol' featherduster, I'm awaiting the next installment.

Thank-you for your patience!
Part XIV now up - a change of pace - but for a good reason - normal service will be resumed in the next part.
@pagroove - I hope you don't mind me creating a mythical back-story for your excellent new ship?
