Are we worldwide?
I’ve noticed that the two newest users are from as far apart as Quito and New Zealand.
I wonder how many countries we’re actually covering? All we need now is for someone to log in from the ISS.

I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Often wondered about the "real" locations of our board members myself.
However: https://bb.oolite.space/profile.php?mode ... ile&u=2540 isn't from NZ - he's a viagra pusher and therefore spam - he's been tagged!

Note that betwixt my name and avatar is a badge and title I wear with pride - back in the day, we had some battles with the spammers - tagging them as they climbed over the walls so the admin could nuke them from orbit.El Viejo wrote:Thanks, DH. The thought of forum spammers hadn't occured to me.
I'm outraged!
I still take note of every new member if I happen to be online (including yourself ) and if I get chance I PM a "hello" - it's the first of many tests...
I still think we have many "sleepers" amongst our numbers - but we're watching, always watching...

I smell a nex OXP idea. Spammers battle. (spammers are a sort of new Thargoids. Using spambombs on planets.)DaddyHoggy wrote:Note that betwixt my name and avatar is a badge and title I wear with pride - back in the day, we had some battles with the spammers - tagging them as they climbed over the walls so the admin could nuke them from orbit.El Viejo wrote:Thanks, DH. Well, we are sure for at least four continents. There are a lot of members in Europe and North America, in Australia, and some in Africa (notably Makandal, if he's still around, and yours truly).El Viejo wrote:I’ve noticed that the two newest users are from as far apart as Quito and New Zealand.

Not sure about South America (the Quito guy may be a spammer as well; I would generally assume that for all accounts which registered, but never posted a thing; there is another account from Paraguy about a month back, which I'm also not sure about), and Asia; although the latter is so big, there has to be somebody. (Yes, for instance this guy in South Korea.) So Asia goes on the list, making it at least five of seven continents. Not bad. And for the former, where is the Carribean counted to?
Doubtful about Antarctica, although it would be cool.
And I'd say, let's try to fill the white areas of the world map first, before going into outer space.
Considering where it all began, it is no wonder that the epicentre still seems to be around London, by the way.

Although the picture isn't entirely correct. E.g. the server/ip-address/whatever-it-is-that-is-actually-displayed-on-the-picture connected to this little board-member here isn't placed in my country of residence. I notice this also on other sites which do geographical tracking. Kenya always gets the cake.
