Main Graphical Expansions

Post by XB7 »

I've never played Oolite. I've seen the graphical updates for Oolite and am looking forward to checking it out. Can someone give me a list of which Expansions update the graphics? There are so many expansions for oolite and for now all I want is to install the graphical updates.

Thanks!

Hello XB7 and welcome onboard.

Difficult question :-) Which version do you want to try (1.65 or v1.72.2 or trunk)? A few new oxps are only working for the trunk-version, so there is no easy answer. Just give us a hint, please :-)

You need to immediately upgrade to 1.72.2 then - as all of the whizzy new graphics need at least 1.72.2 to run (1.65 didn't support shaders)

There's a thread in the Oolite-Linux forum (Getafix started) with detailed instructions on how to build 1.72.2 under Linux if you have any problems.

And then you can install most of the released oxps. A good starting point to update the graphics is:
(Planets, moons) Asteroid Storm, Famous Planets, System Redux, (Stations) Bank of the Black Monks, BuoyRepair, Fuel Station, Gritty Coriolis, HoOpy Casino, Trade Outpost, P.A.Groove Stations, Your Ad Here, (Flavour) Anarchies, Commies, Deep Space Dredgers, Dictators, Tianve, Tionisla Orbital Graveyard, (Missions) Random Hits, UPS-Courier and every ship-oxp that does fit in your imagination.

This is just a short list, there are many other excellent oxps around. Specially Griff's creations are worth every Credit :-)

Have fun

The script I downloaded installed everything beautifully. I'll check these out. Thanks for your time.
