For Diqudi and Qurexein, I propose the Twins for their joint name. They're identical in almost every respect except name. They also control a pair of major passage ways in their region.
There's a Song of Ice and Fire reference there, too. It's not exact, but the parallel is there.

OK the GALAXY3 vector map has been updated; WE NEED NAMES! For regions and routes!
GALAXY4 continues to grow slowly like a fungus.
I have a new least favourite place! ESONLEAR!
bottom right. Difficult to get into and damn near impossible to get out of. More angry flying shells than an explosion in a nut factory. A great place to get killed.

Gal 3 map - area on bottom far right: The Kite (and therefore systems in the line heading towards the top of the area are locally known as "the kite strings")
The long thin(ish) area at the bottom of the chart: "The Bridge" - since it's quite bridge like in shape and it links the pale blue route to the white route - so you must use this region to cross between routes...
Area top right of chart 3: "Outreach" (or "The Stretch") - since it's two jumps off the end of the red route and its a stretch to get too (or is "reaching out" to traders to come a calling...)

Is ATISTISO (known locally as "the big sneeze") really on The space lane or is it bypassed and just looks like it's on the route?

It's a bit corny but the yellow route top left corner - "Broken Circle" since Xeononle being a feudal screws over a really nice full-circle route - infact a good oxp might try and force some stability into Xeononle to increase the profitability of this route...

The single track running Usrage-Enata-Edtion, crossing the big gulf in the centre-lower half (X: 170, Y: 180), could be called something like "Chancer's Arm". And the gulf it crosses could be called the Rub’ Al Khali.
There's another dodgy little shortcut running between Qusoxe and Qumaza (X: 90, Y: 180): how about "Runner's Leap"?

Or "Homer's Leap" - referring to the Literary Oddessy and in more practical and contemporary terms to a certain cartoon yelow-skinned fat guy on a skateboard...Disembodied wrote:The single track running Usrage-Enata-Edtion, crossing the big gulf in the centre-lower half (X: 170, Y: 180), could be called something like "Chancer's Arm". Does it matter?Cmd. Cheyd wrote:Is it me, or is the naming shifting from being based on the actual planet information, and becoming more "Constellation Finding"?

Yes and no. Some regions might have been named for their form, others for their political structure, others for no reason that anyone can remember. It all depends on the effect you're looking for. A mix is good, though.DaddyHoggy wrote:Does it matter?Cmd. Good point - I will study their structure as well as their visual form...Nemoricus wrote:Yes and no. Hence the reason we're getting a little clever.
This is open to anyone but being the dude doing most of the work I feel it necessary to retain a small right of veto. eg there will not be a
"three legged monkey riding a skate board" Cluster. This is a benign dictatorship, but a dictatorship none the less. It's the only way to keep a project like this one moving forward.
So I'm suggesting using Yeon, Korean for kite. Da Hoggy gets the name and by sidestepping languages the air of mystery that Cmd. Cheyd quite rightly coverts is satisfied as well.
We still need a name for the white route. I was thinking
Triskelion Conduit
