I downloaded galactic navy oxp.. and had a look at its scripting--

it will only spawn a battle in interstellar space... meaning you where 6.4 L.Y away from laisis... so you did as i wrote in my story above,...,

So there is no such bug, the code simply does not allow for it.

playing thargoid threat. Sent to to Qurexein to help defend the system. Have had to play this several times and the navy have only turned up this one time, but definately not in deep space.
