Just slightly OT, but...
I just checked out the Tholian Web episode on Wikipedia and had a moment of deja-vu when I looked at the picture, damned if that don't look like a Python spinning that energy web around the Enterprise... maybe, instead of being "caught between dimensions" Kirk actually stumbled into the Ooniverse for a while...
In which case, 'Tholian' is clearly a mis-translation of 'Teonan'. Those early Universal Translators did tend to be a little buggy..

This next correction will be spoken in a "compare the meerkat . com" accent:
We is havings another bobo in these galaxy 8 seccom:
Sector Command 5 Inzaan 7, 156
Sector Command 6 Inzaan 7, 251
it should reading:
Sector Command 5 Inzaan 7, 156
Sector Command 6 Esusale 7, 251
Don't even sound same!
OK so top right group best offers so far (in no particular order):
1) Weave Worlds (It's a good one if we don't use it here we'll use it somewhere else)
2) The Web Worlds
3) Cats Cradle (again there's bound to be a nest of cat worlds in this lot some where.
4) The Teonan Web (given it's position at the head of the cluster it is more likely to be an older world, eg discovered first, named first and head of the list to name the cluster)
5) Spider Constellation
6) Arachnid Cluster
I like Teonan web with The weave worlds given to the super cluster on the left. Anyone violently disagree?

Made a small screenshot of your map and marked the possible areas to name. My 2 credits for naming.
The Staircase belt. This is because these are clustered worlds in form of a diagonal.
The Nova Void.> Not an area in itself but a big sea of blackness with only 3 routes through it. Scientists believe it is the result of a big supernova that took place millions of years ago.
Also I did spot a man-like constellation on the right side? Any name for that?

I'm liking 'The Zaedvera Pocket', honestly.Diziet Sma wrote:Here, an isolated area with only one way in/out created by loops in the river is referred to as a 'pocket'.. Fig Tree Pocket, Priors Pocket, etc..Cmd. Cheyd wrote:As for your sector, Master... Give me a day to think on it. I'm thinking something simple like "The Backwater".
so maybe, Zaedvera Pocket? The Warlords Pocket? or something similar..

I propose Usoron (TL 10) Corporate State with Human Colonials as a possible candidate for a Governmental seat of Galaxy 2. It's centrally located in the busiest cluster of Galaxy 2. A region full of planets and trading opportunities.

In light of this just-announced OXP, I'm seconding the Zaedvera Pocket...
(and the fact that I suggested the name originally has nothing to do with it, honestly, I swears!)

And the regional name then inspired the Ionics Corporation at Zaria to name their ships after spiders... sounds good!ClymAngus wrote:4) The Teonan Web (given it's position at the head of the cluster it is more likely to be an older world, eg discovered first, named first and head of the list to name the cluster)

I've added a link to the Galaxy One Vector Map on the Planet List page of the Oolite Wiki. The others will be added as they are completed.
