help - they fitted my beam laser to starboard not aft!

I upgraded my front laser to military

but somehow the existing front beam laser destined for aft ended up starboard. not sure how to instruct the guys at the space station to sort it out....

any help appreciated!

Hack the savefile

other than that, there's no way to recover it, unless you have an older savefile to backup from and try again

or is this reproducible?

I think I just messed up when specifying where to put the beam laser.

I've had a look at the save file - it's an xml-type document, so I should just be able to edit it in wordpad or similar?

When upgrading weaponry, does the game credit you back the price of the weapon being replaced, or is that just a sunk cost? In my case, when I'm updating the save file, should I be adding Cr400 to my pot for 'selling' the aft pulse laser (one careful owner)?

You get a full refund for the laser you replace, so you should just edit the position of the weapon in the save file and you are good to go.
