Does anyone else have this problem??????????
Several times I have tried uploading later versions than v1.65
Every time, after unzipping, installing file in "applications" folder, exactly as I did with v1.65, and starting up with universe creation screen - then pressing "space" - the game Quits
Here is the files I have downloaded:
Oolite (v1.72.2)
oolite-1-1.72.2-test-mac-full.zip.download
oolite-1.72.2-test-mac-full
oolite-1.72.2-test-mac-update.zip
______________the latter added to "AddOns" folder:
______________a) added to the folder in v1.72 OOLITE FOLDER
______________b) added to the folder "AddOns" I created in
______________ Library/ApplicationSupport/Oolite/AddOns
______________ for v1.65
oolite-1.72.2.x86.v2.package
I am using an iMac FlatPanel 1GHz max. memory max. everything else installed ---- it works fine with Oolite, OXP TheAssassinsGuild ran great fps perfectly OK & all missions fantastic (I especially enjoyed docking at the gas giants!) so hearty thanks to all involved your efforts very much appreciated However I would like to try some textured planets and RandomHits OXP for which I need the later version ANY COMMENTS WELCOME

Assuming you've already moved the old Oolite app away from the Applications folder, Have you tried moving all contents away from oolite's AddOns folder? There doesn't seem to be any problem installing 1.72.2 on a 'fresh' mac, so moving the old stuff out of harm's way might just help...
PS: The file you need is 1.72.2-test-mac-full.zip

Also, does the log file say anything interesting? You can find it at ~/Library/Logs/Oolite/Latest.log.
Edit: come to think of it, I should release a fix for the known JavaScript crash on PPC Macs.

The log file says:

I think that sounds interesting. However the iMac in question is a G4; sounds like the known bug.

Nope, not the known bug. And no OXPs? Fascinating. I hate it when things get fascinating.
