Oolite test release 1.72.2.1

Post by JensAyton »

Oolite test release 1.72.2.1 is now available from GURPO. This release fixes a set of crashing bugs and display errors related to JavaScript number handling in PowerPC builds for Mac OS X only. You do not need this upgrade if you’re running 1.72.2 on an Intel Mac or any other platform.

Thanks ahruman. Now I can used the console again without a constant worry of crashing Oolite. The updater however has a flaw. When used on 1.72.2 I repeatedly get the message:

Code: Select all

Mon Mar  2 17:56:57 CET 2009
<- Drop Upgrade running ->
/Applications/Games/Oolite/Oolite1.72.2.app is not a suitable version of Oolite. No upgrade performed.
<- Drop Upgrade finished ->

result: Failed
No idea if the problem is caused on my computer or by the updater, but as the updater should update any older version so I updated a 1.71 oolite copy. That worked perfectly

Code: Select all

Mon Mar  2 17:57:25 CET 2009
<- Drop Upgrade running ->
Can write into Oolite.app
Found table of contents at /Users/ericwalch/Desktop/Oolite 1.72.2.1 drop updater.app/Contents/Resources/toc
File info is 'APPLOol8'
Version is '1.71.2'
File info matches. Upgrading ...
.
.
.
Done
<- Drop Upgrade finished ->

result: Success
Just a hint to others: take an older version to update when hitting the same problem..

D’oh! I forgot to update the version list in the updater. Trivial changes never are… fixed version going up.
