I also liked your race portraits and the interface. I hope Deepspace and Oolite blend nicely together. One question though. Wasn't your Cobbie MK3 texture in Deepspace in a far higher resolution?

What? Race portraits? Hmmm. Might be a good thing that that project stopped at the moment, maybe we can convince the author to integrate that stuff to planet info screens and the like? ;) The Atari/Amiga versions of Elite had been too colorful for me, but some of that was a good addition.

Really, it's sometimes necessary to stop a project, when doing it alone. After the university, I used some spare time to start a remake of an old game on PC, but work limited my time and too few time did lead to bad design. I had to stop working on that, too. After my burnout, I couldn't even open the development environment, before I felt bad (it looks just the same as the one which caused me much trouble, is different, though). I then tried that every few days until (after several months) I didn't get bad feelings from the development environment anymore. Then I rewrote pretty much stuff and was able to get it to a running state!

Thus, never throw code away, but sometimes it's better to stop for some time. If one tries to make it work, though, it's often creating a too limited viewpoint to do really good work.

The alien races where rather nice. I only had 10 different races though. Dunno if I could do more tbh. Would be nice to have them in Oolite. :)
As for the Cobra texture yes it was much higher in my game. I just re-drew it at the current rez for the test. I'll probably do it again once I start to re-draw the textures for real, that Cobra Mk III was just a test. Whats the maxmum texture budget for the ships? or is it limited only by the size of the graphics card ;) I guess a nice general limit is the best way to work. 512x512 be ok? can they be higher? or should they be smaller?

Almost finished my DeepSpace_HUD OXP. Here's a pic...

Messed with some screenshots I had of that solar texture I made, the Anarlaqu texture from the upcoming FP release, and just a moon that happened to show up in a third screenshot to make myself a new desktop at work...

Looking at that station, it doesn't look like my ship would fit through the station.... But otherwise, its great!
I can imagine flying through there on injectors and the pathetic 'bots trying to fill my tank as I burnt fuel...
I shot him back first. That is to say, I read his mind and fired before he would have fired on me. No, sir, he wasn't a fugitive.

@Wackyman ... if you really are flying an Imperial Courier, I can tell you that it does fit - rather easily.

Oh, but you do have to stop when asked.

Yup, an IC fits fine (at least a civi one does). It's what I was flying when I was creating and testing it. I think I even wrote as much in the readme file ;)

Read me quote
"Fuel Station OXP by Thargoid.

For the hurried Commander on the go! No time to dock, just want to grab some fuel and run, then this is the place for you...

To grab some fuel, just fly into the yellow glow in the centre of the station and come to a halt. Your ship will notify you when transfer begins and when your tank is full (and if you run out of cash during the transfer, sorry no credit will be given to broke Commanders). Then just fly on out, check your summary receipt and carry on with your journey.

Stations are limited to tech levels of 4 and above and will not appear in Anarchy or Feudal systems. Not every system has them, but some have at both the witchpoint and half-way between the witchpoint and the main planet to fill-up on Route One. To find one quickly just look for "F" on your advanced space compass.

Oh and these stations are solidly built, but aren't designed for big ships (no Dredgers!). And Galcop don't take too kindly to acts of laser vandalism on them...

Requires Oolite v1.72 or later."
