News from the front!!!! (Part 2)
Recently a lot of pilots encountered a new strange kind of billboard inside asteroid fields in corporate state systems. This new kind of ad billboard is highly sophisticated and unlike anything else we have seen before. It seems that responsible for this is the notorious company “AhrumanCo marketing services LLC”. Although they are very rare and until now present only in corporate systems, there are a lot of protests against this development especially from the mining guild as the electronics of this new type of billboard affects the radar of their mining ships, making their mining job inside an asteroid field even more difficult. There are even rumors that some mining ships attacked those new billboards but nothing is been proven so far.
Despite the protests and the fact that the case is until now under investigation from the local law authorities is highly unlikely that the billboards will be removed due to the vast influence the company has in the oouniverse.Other government types refuse to host those new billboards so at least the problem only exist for the time being in corporate states

Here's Pangloss's recent billboard adds with the alpha channel stuff needed for the shader:
Code: Select all
"pangloss_glowads_set3_for_trade_outpost" =
{
model = "griff_station_glowads.dat";
roles = "griff_station_subent";
materials =
{
// Swap out texture when shaders are off
"griff_station_glow_ads.png" = { diffuse_map = "pangloss glowads_set3.png"; };
};
shaders =
{
"griff_station_glow_ads.png" =
{
vertex_shader = "ahruman-generic.vertex";
fragment_shader = "griff_station_hull.fragment";
textures = ("pangloss glowads_set3.png");
};
};
};
It looks great!!!
Now the only thing that remains is the roof billboard, and a little more testing and it is over. Thank you!!!
Does anybody interested for a new wip now that shady billboards are in? or should i wait for at least one replacement for the roof billboard first.
As for the roof billboards I am quit sure that little bear could also use some of them in the spacebar of random hits so even if somebody creates something beautiful that simply does not fit right in the constore maybe little bear can use it so we need plenty of them.
Also I think it is time to seriously start thinking what we should do with the final 2 set. For all those that they do not know the final 2 sets do not have a dedicated constore but replicas of the pi-42. In the wiki doc (or somebody else) mentions something about the Sainsboory's constore in those sets but this constore in nowhere to be found. We do not have even a logo to begin with.
Personally I would be rather disappointed if we do not create this station for set E or F. It is now or never.

I was just making a quick logo. At the time, I thought it looked kind-of-like "V8".Griff wrote:aww, the little purple packman in the top left of those new ads is making me feel all sad cheer up little fella!
I'll get these all alpha channel shaderified in a bit
...and now I look at it, it DOES look Pac-Manesque. OK: under the Creative Commons, this emblem can be used for Oolite (obviously). But if the V8 company wants to use it, they have to pay the Oolite community. Pay for the web domain's and BB's upkeep.

My problem is: I'm a flippin' perfectionist. I was making full-size versions of the logos in case I wanted to use them at another time. This one, for example...DaddyHoggy wrote:I believe it takes a few scant minutes does that help?
...I'm thinking of using for my own means. My last name's Seabrook, two bodies of water, so this one might come in useful. All the logos I created were made big and then reduced down. So any little imperfection was fixed in the large version before reducing, even if it wouldn't show in the smaller version.
