Deciding to be a little bold, I decided to dump the 1.65 version that was on the Ubuntu repository and move up to 1.72. The autopackage worked nicely, but as soon as I started oolite I received this:
kcc@unixjedi:~/packages# oolite --debug
oolite.app/oolite: relocation error: /lib/tls/i686/cmov/librt.so.1: symbol __pthread_clock_gettime, version GLIBC_PRIVATE not defined in file libpthread.so.0 with link time reference
Erk. It looks like Oolite died with an error. When making an error
report, please copy + paste the log above into the report.

I rsynced the nightly build, but still no go... Any suggesstions?

Make sure to first uninstall Oolite 1.65:
Uninstall Oolite 1.72 and remove "/usr/lib/Oolite" completely.
If you have already downloaded oolite-1.72.2.x86.v2.package, reinstall it.
Run Oolite from Applications/Games/ desktop menu.
If it still fails:
a. post the contents of "/usr/lib/Oolite/oolite-deps/lib" folder and
b. post the result of "uname -a".
Code: Select all
apt-get --purge remove oolite oolite-data

Currently 'rsync' will just synchronize to v1.72 and not to v1.72.2 yet.kcallis wrote:I rsynced the nightly build, but still no go...
Does this mean that this thread can be set to '[SOLVED]'?kcallis's post wrote:I have just build the 64-bit Oolite 1.72.2 and everything seems to be working correctly, ...
It seems to me that the issue reported to this post has nothing to do
with the actual oolite setup/build, consequently, there is no issue
with Ubuntu 8.10 and nightly build, right?
