No, I wouldn't guess that. And it definitely smells buggy. There should be no friggin' way that you get a cloaking device from the Thargoids.

And before anyone asks, no the cloaked Thargoid warship in Second Wave doesn't give out it's cloak when it's nuked.

And before anyone asks again, it's no RS feature, intended or unintended, either.

I wouldn't be too sure about that too soon. The Thargoid Carrier, if you manage to dock with it, has quite a high TL. In combination with a buggy version of RS you might be there...

But of course we don't know yet quite how Carrotcat got the cloaking device from the Thargoids. It may have happened in a completely different way...

I got the message about the station being under attack and all armed ships are to launch.

I turned to look at the Thargoid menace only to see the ship blinking like mine now does when I activate the cloak.

I completely misjudged how far away the Thargoid was and ended up crashing into it.

I survived and got the cloak as a prize.

Can't you also get a CD at a constitution or whatever the startrek like ship is?
I shot him back first. That is to say, I read his mind and fired before he would have fired on me. No, sir, he wasn't a fugitive.

You can with RS in, but I don't like this feature anymore - it was originally supposed to be an easter egg, and you would have to have the idea to attempt to fly into that impossible Constitution docking slit first to find it.

Nowadays, the spoilers are all over the forum, and in OSE (Oolite Shipyards Extension - the RS successor) this feature will be changed. The CD will still be available besides the mission - but it will be much more difficult, expensive, and ... atmospheric ... from where you can alternatively get it then.

The cat is out the bag, now :(
