Happy to see Oolite is still going

Post by Darkbee »

Haven't been to this site in a long time. I'm happy to see it's still going, although looks like Giles' site is no longer active, is he still involved in the project at all? I know he was suffering from burn out.

I recognize some of the usernames.

Just thought I'd pop in and say hi... I really should get back into this game again.

Unsure, my specialist subject is audio drama and podcasting. Whilst I am a prince on those boards I am a mere pleb in this one. Such is the way of the internet.

I would say however that if you've been gone a long time then the first port of call would be the add ons. People here have been bloody clever in your absence. :)

I don't think anyone has developed a marmitemissile.oxp in your absence but you never know.

Yeah, welcome back. Methinks you should check out the Griff Boa...
I shot him back first. That is to say, I read his mind and fired before he would have fired on me. No, sir, he wasn't a fugitive.

Darkbee! Excellent! Great to see you back on the board; as you commented, Giles involvement in the project is purely as a spectator now, but he does drop in and say hi occasionally.

Fortunately the game has acquired some outstanding contributors who have continued to improve the game in many ways, with improvements to the scripting, many new oxps, procedural texturing, and numerous little problems ironed out.

The graphics quality has improved beyond recognition, I don't know which version you have on your system, but the chances are that you will be more than surprised at the latest versions. Do have a good look at the Oolite Wiki (http://wiki.alioth.net/index.php/Oolite_Main_Page)
Very funny, Scotty, now beam down my clothes...

And on those occasions, great festivals are held praising the glory of Giles the Creator and commemorating His Almighty Work, after which another shrine is built and new converts are extorted asked to donate to maintain the existing shrines.
