Your ad Here crashes Oolite

Post by wackyman465 »

YAH crashes Oolite 1.72 with 102 other OXP's running. (ask if you want list). Oolite runs normally with these, but when I include your ad here in the addons folder, Oolite starts, then hangs at the "initializing universe" screen, takes 1.25 gig of memory, 90% cpu, then, after a few minutes of chaos, crashes.
Oolite runs normally with just your ad here and ad sets a-f (no other OXP's)
Any help?
I'm not overloading computer's memory, am I?
(have 2 gig)
I shot him back first. That is to say, I read his mind and fired before he would have fired on me. No, sir, he wasn't a fugitive.

No luck...
Won't even let me make oolite active window to press shift.. (window without greyed out controls)
Hang on, trying something else.

I find this thread more for the bugs forum or post it under the Your ad topic? It's a bit space consuming when new threads are made for every bug in the Expansion pack forum. No offense meant :D

@pagroove - 'Twas I that suggested that Wacky post here - it being the part of the BB for bug reports... :? Since he also posted under the Constore replacement thread, which in itself is a derivative of YAH then I think all bases are covered and perhaps somebody will be able to help...

@Wacky - I presume your running Windows - a copy of your Stderr file posted here might be useful (although I do not know where it is created in the Windows version of the code)

I've 4gig, but the vendor gave me a 32 bit version of vista which can only use three of them and then claimed they could not exchange it for the 64 bit version *GRRR*...however, at the ram consume you postet (1.2 gig), vista already complains about running out of ram and asks me to shut down oolite each time I travel through witchspace. It's not oolites fault, I've got games with similar ram usage and vista complains there, too. In all cases, theres >1gig cache used by vista, thus it even appears to me that vista is buggy concerning that point.

Please open ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter (in the Finder, select Go->Home, open the Library folder, open the Logs, folder, open the CrashReporter folder), select all files beginning with Oolite, compress them (control-click one of them while they are selected and chose “Compress N Items”), and send the resulting Archive.zip to the e-mail address below.
