to be brutally frank tho, i'm afraid braben can go stick his game up his ar$e, afaic now. to me, he's just snubbing the entire community that made him his money. the original release date is now some 5 (or is it 6?) years past due. people have been dying for this game, constantly posting about it on many boards. there's a huge established market for it, guaranteed money ~ and still they snub us. last i heard, he promised it after "rollercoaster tycoon" which was still in development at the time. now aparently it's after "the outsider" which - guess!! - is still in development. another board reckons 2011 for Elite IV at earliest. Frankly, at this point,i don't care.

The pre-order for Elite IV has been on Play.com for years, I'm afraid, only the "Due for Release"-date keeps being shifted back ever further. "27/03/2010" sounds pretty rediculous anyway.
But who knows, I recon it's still very much possible to release a sort-of-Elite-like game that has fresh and unique elements and is commercially feasible. Not holding my breath though

It says "single player version" - is this a prediction that elite 4 will have a multiplayer vers? I'd love to come flying down on some innocent noob trader in a cloaked IC...
