Hi,
am I the only one who is annoyed that switching views, killing stuff or people talking to me spam the screen so that fighting becomes difficult (especially when wanting to stay clean)?
Furthermore, many texts are displayed in the message box and on screen...and both versions even have the same time amount in which they are shown. It would make much sense to me, not to show those messages in yellow at all, but send them to the box directly and probably leave it open 1 to 3 seconds longer....but then, maybe I'm just too slow at reading while fighting

You're reading while fighting? Wow.

- if I got that bounty
- if I got that escape pod (before it gets away)
- what was in that cargo pod
...and sometimes I do even care about other ships yelling for help
However, it's pretty annoying that the text runs into the sights...especially when having large encounters (navy reserve mission against thargoids, ...). Then I'd rather have it either all in the message box or another log to open in order to check it later. Especially the messages which say into which direction I look should not scroll into the sights - that's highly annoying when I have to use both front and aft lasers in rapid exchange.
The reason that I gather cargo during a fight is, that much has drifted away until the fight is over. Thus, if my shields do allow, I'll grab what I can, while it's there. Maybe it's a bug, but I've seen cargo "drifting" faster than my .555 craft.

Fast cargo is not a bug but simply that the cargo was imparted with a serious amount of velocity when the ship carrying it was destroyed...

In the core game this is well balanced and thought of. All the spam comes mainly from added oxp's. And most writers just like to fill your screen with spam. It costs extra effort for a programmer to reduce the amount of spam.Screet wrote:am I the only one who is annoyed that switching views, killing stuff or people talking to me spam the screen so that fighting becomes difficult (especially when wanting to stay clean)?
The DeepSpacePirates I make sure there is only one ship that is sending a message to the player. Also in UPS I installed a timer for some spam messages that checks if I already did send a message the past 5 seconds. If yes, the spam message is just skipped.
