Controls with US keyboard

Post by lolwhites »

I understand that the \ key switches the Advanced Space Compass. Unfortunately I've had to switch to an old US keyboard until I'm back in the UK and can replace my dying one, and the key if in a different spot and does nothing to switch the compass. They key itself works fine.

Any ideas?

If you can find keyconfig.plist within your installations resources directory (under oolite.app/Config on my Windows installation, not sure under Linux but probably somewhere similar) you can remap the key to somewhere more convenient. Open that file in a text editor, look for the appropriate entry and make the change to the key_next_compass_mode line.

Personally I use "x" for that job, as \ doesn't work on my laptop for some reason.
