RELEASED: Tianve.OXP - Now v1.2 (more bugfixes)

Post by drew »

Pleased to announce the v1.2 release of Tianve.OXP (Was a bug in the previous v1.1 and v1.0 release - download link has been retained)

This is a new version of the 'Pulsar Trip' and features a number of enhancements including a new McPulsar , improved liner AI, adverts, escorts, two extra space lanes (planet-pulsar and witchpoint-pulsar), OXP specific comms messages and even a special chance encounter should you be so lucky...

This remains a 'fun' OXP, and not a mission as such, but should add character to the Tianve system as described in Status Quo. I've updated the relevant wiki entries to point to the new version.

It should be played with Tori.oxp and Famous_Planets.oxp for maximum effect!

I believe it needs v1.7x or higher to work correctly. (Definitely doesn't work with v1.65)

Many thanks to:

Killer Wolf, Dr. Nil, Littlebear, Ahruman, PaGroove, Ramirez, Commander Mclane, Eric Walch and Thargoid for all their help in creating this OXP.

PLEASE REMOVE AND DELETE ALL PREVIOUS TIANVE.OXP VERSIONS AS THIS NEW ONE WILL CONFLICT

See you in witchspace, commanders!

Download TIANVE v1.2

Cheers,

Drew.

Very nice! Finally made it to Tianve. Although I think you might want to consider putting up a warning for epilepsy sufferers and those susceptible to motion sickness :D

Oddly enough, if there was a 'real' pulsar that we could observe, it might spin a lot faster...

The slowest known pulsar is PSR_J2144-3933 with a rotation taking 8.51 seconds.

The fastest known is PSR B1937+21, which is under a millisecond. Wonder what that looks like!

So, the Tianve Pulsar is on the low side at 2 radians per second.

Attention all!

Eric found a bug in my code which I've now fixed, so please downloaded v1.1 of the pulsar in favour of previous versions if you've already downloaded - sorry!

Anything prior to this message will have the old v1.0. You can tell by the readme.txt in the zip.

TIANVE v1.1

Drew.

Forgot to say that I traveled to the pulsar for the second time. I did also in v1.0. This is very good. I like the liner groups along the way. BTW is it difficult to make Spaceway L1 Liners and add them to the planets in the package?

Folks, found another couple of bugs with a file in this OXP, so have moved it up to v1.2.

Basically the Liners were under-equipped, and part of the OXP wasn't functioning correctly.

Worth issuing the following warning from the Tianve Tourist Board at this point...

"The Tianve system may not be an ideal locale for Commanders with a fugitive rating. Some of our population take a dim view of pilots with a less than honourable fight record. We take no responsibility, nor will we be held liable for damages incurred, for your ship should you encounter any vigilantes within the system. You have been warned."

Cheers,

Drew.
