Target is not capable of autopilot docking

Post by Lestradae »

Hi again,

while testing with diverse station models (the tianve oxp one and the old biosphere) I suddenly couldn`t dock with those stations. Attempting to dock by hand made me crash (erm, explode in-game) every time I entered the docking slit, and attempting SHIFT-C gave me the message "Target is not capable of autopilot docking".

I have never seen this message before and never had the problem before while testing.

Anyone the wiser? 1.72, Vista. Thanks in advance.

I tried your suggestion, but it didn`t fit through the docking slit, too.

Lestradae, you should check your logfile anyway. Perhaps there may be some information to find which points to a problem with your Oolite? There might be something broken, which would explain this problem and the one you have with the SIRFYards?

Just a guess.

Just to be clear: You have selected a dockable target before pressing Shift+C, correct?

Yeah, I did

Really makes sense to ask such things, though ... forgetting the SHIFT key and searching for the error for half an hour is entirely in my capabilities sometimes

"station" must be in the roles key, even if the station is being called under another unique name, so as to be treated as a station by the game in all respects.

Didn`t know that before, but makes sense in retrospect.

Note: better give it a low role probability (even zero is possible), so that it is not taken as a main station instead of the beautiful PAGroove stations. So in the roles-key you should write 'station(0)', not just 'station'.

BTW, there is an alternative without using the roles-key: Insert the isCarrier <true/> key.

@CMcL:

Using the "isCarrier <true/> key" seems to be the better solution to me, then.

Thanks @advice :)
