@Ramirez - Under 1.72, Trident Down 1.0 causes crash

Post by Lestradae »

Hi,

After installing Oolite 1.72 experienced crash to desktop on start-up.

The crashes turned out to be independent of all and any other oxps I use, they only happen if Trident Down V1.0 is installed. Without it, all works well and no crash.

No idea why this happens, but thought to notify you so that you could update the oxp to 1.72 compatible if wanted.

BTW, after a TD update in the past my mission status seems to have disappeared from the missions page. Would like to finish the missions though. I recall someone mentioned briefly that you changed a script name in some oxp of yours, could that be the reason?

Looking forwards to playing the missions again 8)

L

PS: My OS is Vista.

I'm gettng exactly the same on my XP system. With TD Oolite bombs, without it (eventually) it runs.

Under 1.71.2 it used to give warnings in the stderr.txt, I guess perhaps whatever was triggering those may have now broken completely.

The old script name was "Trident_Down". In version 1.0 it was changed into "trident_down". For Oolite it are two different scripts.

Two possible solutions are:
1) Or open the script file and change the script name into the old one,
2) or open your saved game and search for the old name and change it into the new one.

Both methods will work.

Thanks for the tip, Eric, will try that as soon as a playable version of Trident Down finds its way to me again 8)
