IMPORTANT
Here's a patch for System Redux. It has to be applied if you play on future versions of Oolite AND to prevent System Redux from generating extra planets each time you undock.
http://www.box.net/shared/static/4n86fl1sop.zip
Also this OXP is not standalone as previously said. It needs System Redux because it textures some planets from System Redux.
I plan on adding custom planet descriptions in the F7 screen

Custom descriptions addon. v1
A bit of Rough Guide taste to the Famous planets package. Only to the planets that are not in another .oxp though. For descriptions on Lave, Leesti, Isinor and Tianve you have to download the oxp's for those systems.

Errrmmm... ...excuse me is the typo in line 4 of the description deliberate?
'...Houses on Diso are built on giant schock absorbers and...'
...and line 3's '...is capable to predict...' is a bit awkward, either ' is capable of predicting ' or 'is able to predict'.
Sorry to be picky...

Re errors - deliberate or otherwise:
lastest = latest?
super-risk = super-RISC?
2nd last line "Disoo" - not Diso - you're referring to the planet yes, not the Corp?
10.000km = 10 (TEN) or ten THOUSAND kilometres? Since Oolite is an international game and some nations use the '.' as a separator and here in the UK (and other places) we use ',' perhaps it might be better to specifically but the word "thousand" in if this is indeed your intention.
However, keep up the good work!

Hm, when we are at the good advice one idea of mine:
What about actually merging System Redux, Famous Planets, Custom Descriptions and the specific planet oxps (Lave, Diso, etc.), and if frame realises his take on Oolite solar system, this too into one Planets Extension oxp?
I mean, I know I am the merging enthusiast here and not everyone is fond of that, I`m not suggesting leaving the seperate oxps off, but for someone who just likes enhanced systems good-looking planets, unique-looking planets, unique planet descriptions and unique systems somehow belong together, don`t they?
Just my opinion thrown into the mix.

Link to v1 custom descriptions for famous planets WITH spelling mistakes (although easy to correct with the help of a txt editor.).

Feel free to mail me any mistakes in the text. I will release version 2 with corrections
Place the planetinfo.plist file in the config directory of Famous Planets
---------------
@Lestradae Thnx again. I think at the moment we should keep the OXP's seperate. However if Solar Systems has a good structure we maybe can integrate some parts in the future.

If someone wants to incorporate (and improve) my Tianve Pulsar OXP into a more cohesive Tianve planet pack, then feel free! I always intended to give Tianve a bit more of a makeover, but I just don't have the time (or the skills if I'm honest )ovvldc wrote:I'd prefer to have any separate OXPs consolidated by individual systems...
And then all of the general stuff in another one.
But that is just my 2ct worth .

It would be cool if there can be some missions. For example in system taxi to the pulsar station. Or something else.
Also if someone would add the radio array to Tionisla it would be great. Wasn't there a large intergalactic broadcast installation at Tionisla Drew?

Re Tionisla : Yes, in Status Quo there is a big antenna in geo sync orbit on the night side of the planet as part of the 'Tionisla Chronicle' broadcasting corporation.
The description in Status Quo is:
Would be awesome if someone could put that in the game!!One of the biggest was the Chronicle Array, a huge transmitter now moored directly opposite the cemetery, permanently eclipsed from the sun in complete radio silence, serving newsfeeds across the galaxy. Twice the diameter of a Torus station, but not rotating, it looked like a small moon from the surface.
Cheers,
Drew.
