Oolite test release 1.71.2

Post by JensAyton »

Oolite test release 1.71.2 is now available from GURPO. This is a bug-fix update to 1.71 and 1.71.1.

Changes between Oolite 1.71.1 and Oolite 1.71.2:
  • Fixed delayed crash after looking at system info screen in interstellar space.
  • Fixed crash when an array in descriptions.plist is empty.
  • Suns, Q-mine explosions and wormholes are now the same size no matter which direction you’re looking at them from.
  • Fix for ships launching with the wrong AI.
  • ECM, space compass and ident are now reset properly when restarting the game.
  • Fixed HUD alpha/hiddenness for empty missile slots.
  • Fixed glitch where it would become impossible to stop playing music after attempting to play music that does not exist.
  • Creating a JavaScript timer with a negative delay value now creates a paused timer as documented.
  • Player.alertEnergy and Player.alertHostiles now work on Windows and Linux.
  • Squashed spurious “ship generated with infinite top speed!” log messages.

couple of fixes/enhancements available for 1.71.2 oolite-pc

Post by CmdrLUke »

I have built oolite-pc using the 1.71.2 source tarball with the following 1.72 fixes/enhancements, because I'm impatient :)

+ Periodic slowdown fix (hyperspace ai performance bug). Turns this also *really* helps the short range view framerate as well
+ Targetting reticle color change when target's in crosshairs -- really needed this one!

Thanks so much to the oolite developers for assisting me in applying these patches and for making the information available on wikis, etc. on how to build from src.

I would be very happy to share the oolite.exe that I've built (just drop it in as a replacement for the existing oolite.exe), if someone could point me to a good place to share binary files. The oolite.exe is about 2MB compressed. Is there a standard "contrib" area for oolite?

Here
http://www.box.net/shared/521dpz7e9o
is oolite.zip, containing oolite.exe that can be dropped in to your oolite.app directory. Contains oolite.exe built from the 1.71.2 source tarball with targetting hud enhancement patch (described in this thread:
https://bb.oolite.space/viewtopic.php?p=57914#57914) and the performance drop fix (describe in https://bb.oolite.space/viewtopic.ph ... 9&start=30)

PLEASE save your existing oolite.exe first.

Always virus check binaries downloaded from the internet, who knows how secure those file sharing sites are.

md5sum for oolite.zip: (don't use if the sums don't match!)
