I haven't put Team Necaxa into Lane Legal OXP yet.

Anyway Lane Legal is mainly a storage for racing team skins until someone comes up with a real racing OXP.

Hmm, very serenidipitous (or some similar spelling), as I was having inspiration and thoughts along these very lines just this morning, and hadn't seen this thread until the doc's posting...

Slightly alternative scenario though, so might I suggest the Red Booll Space Race (said inspiration being the Red Bull Air Race)? I was thinking along the lines of tracks set up in (for example) 5 systems spread across a particular galaxy (preferrably one lacking in missions at the moment), which become active as the previous one is completed (tracks still exist in the other systems, but don't have flashers set or count towards the results).

Races held once the player arrives, with a few NPC ships, and either have a table of cumulative times for each entrant, or points per race (a la Formula One), and an overall winner after all races are completed.

Would that be an alternative people would go for, leading to some tripping around the galaxy (depending where the courses are placed), and some fun along the way of course.

With Doc's recent post I've just discovered this thread as it appeared during my extended leave of absence.

Two questions - going through the thread there seems to be a lot more teams skinned than appears on the wiki. Is there a definitive number on which are left? Reskinning ships seems to be one of the few things I'm OK with (i.e. the never-happened-Tescoo Hauler and the actually-happened-Tescoo Oxpress store) plus I'm OK at the Ads thing and therefore getting sponsors should be OK!

EDIT - More precisely having gone through them all - there's a lot of teams already skinned but only Dr. Nils have his credited to him. D'oh!

Second question - is this a definite working OXP, with the already skinned ships in it?

There are nine 'skinned' teams in this thread, if there are any more that have been done, the artists could post the piccies here and as for the team profiles, as yet none have been realised!!!!

As for the OXP I don't know how far LB got with the various details.

There's the Lane Legal OXP (available from the link in my signature). It doesn't really do much except add the skinned ships to the flight lanes. Except Team Necaxa's.

Bumping it has reminded me that I was going to write some back stories for the teams (once I'm not ad producing for the new Constores - although Pangloss has quickly re-established himself as the demi-god this particular strand of the ooniverse!)

Yep. Guilty as charged.

I saw a connection here folks and I was only tyring to do my best to help out.
I think the RemLoc ad from Pangloss would suit being slapped on a vector say. The colours would go quite well. Having a look at RL motorsport ads is another thing that's on my mind too. A strong link to these types of logo's from RL could be worth investigating for use in the game. By association, we would instantly recognize the logo/decal being displayed.

Just my own little thoughts gents.
