Apologies for digging up the "UK Government couldn't organise an IT project in a brewery" debate, but I stumbled upon this article and it sums the situation up on one page...

Ah you see the report specifically mentions Qinetiq...
When I worked for DERA and it was split I was lucky to end up (i.e. I changed jobs until I knew I was going) in Dstl rather than QQ.
Odd, that it doesn't mention EDS (benefit project) or Crapita (NHS project) specifically.

DH, allow me to lead you to a rich seam of government dumbf*ckery: http://burningourmoney.blogspot.com/search/label/IT
My favourite article is "Stuck In IT Hell With The Commissars", if only because it makes a thought-provoking attempt to show how these IT projects could be made to be more successful.

That's a cool blog - puts mine to shame (as per my sig) but I manage to spill out some bile ridden angst on a slightly more regular basis (i.e. weekly +/- 2 days).

At last! There's a strange drumming sound. Can anyone else hear it?

Yeah, sure, I do know ... my replies were a joke, too, perhaps an inside one that only the Doctor Who fans on the forum will have got ...JohnnyBoy wrote:It's scary. What queuing in a supermarket does to your head. Instigating voices. The voices that say "kill them".Lestradae wrote:What? What?? What!?
...oh, forget it...
